ELC Summer programme 2024

We are excited to offer our Summer Festival of Arts, with a selection of enriching and meaningful experiences. 

  • Y2-Y6 Summer programme is for children aged 6 to 11 years old.
  • Children are able to sign up for whole sessions or any individual weeks.
  • 8:30am – 2:00pm daily
  • Session 1: 24 June - 5 July (Monday-Friday)
  • Session 2: 30 July - 9 August (Monday-Friday) *29 July is public holiday.

Session 1 (24 June - 5 July)

3D Design and Printing
Technology has opened up a world of opportunities for children to be creative and innovative. With access to a wealth of information and resources on their hands, children can experiment, explore, and bring their ideas to life. Children will follow the engineering design process in order to imagine, plan, create, test, and improve a 3D prototype that has a real-world application. Children will learn the fundamentals of designing on the TinkerCAD platform including manipulating dimensions, rotating, and transforming objects in space. Through this exploration, children will also develop an understanding of how 3D printers work, why, and how they are used.
Broadway Extravaganza
Step into the limelight and uncover the exhilarating world of stage performance as a triple threat! From captivating acting to melodious singing and dazzling dance moves, your child will embark on a journey filled with boundless energy and creativity. Throughout the program, they'll immerse themselves in crafting a vibrant medley of musical numbers, culminating in a spectacular end-of-week performance which will be recorded and shared via email. Our focus goes beyond the stage, fostering a nurturing environment where fun, friendship, and teamwork flourish, empowering each child to embrace their self-confidence, self-esteem, and belief in themselves.
Robotics
Join us and be part of an exciting excursion into the world of Robotics, real and imaginary. Children will become immersed in the exploration of designing, building, and coding robots with LEGO EV3 and Sphero SPRK. Together, they will design and construct simple robots to complete specific tasks and overcome obstacles and challenges. Skills such as planning, creative and instructional writing will be supported and enhanced during the creation of their robots and obstacle courses. We will also develop our communication, teamwork, and leadership skills in these sessions.
Visual Art Adventures
Dive into the dazzling world of visual arts! Each day is a brand-new adventure as children embark on exciting artistic journeys, exploring a treasure trove of vibrant mediums and drawing inspiration from the masters of the craft. From bold acrylics to dreamy watercolours and magical pastels, there's no limit to the creative possibilities on their canvas! With hands-on activities and guidance, our adventures spark imaginations and cultivate budding artistic talents. Along the way, they'll uncover the secrets of colour theory, explore the art of composition, and unleash their unique style, crafting pieces every single day. Get ready to paint, create, and let your imagination soar this summer!

Session 2 (30 July - 9 August)

World Buidling
Children will explore elements of storytelling, world-building, and artistic expression through the creation of thoughtful and environmentally conscious dioramas. They will have the opportunity to sculpt, paint, draw, and print while developing their own ideas and 3-dimensional creations from natural and recycled materials. They will engage with artists' work while developing skills such as engaging and persisting, observing, stretching, exploring, and expressing of self.
Robotics
Join us and be part of an exciting excursion into the world of Robotics, real and imaginary. Let's Get Physical
Join us for an interdisciplinary adventure into the world of sports! The children will participate in various physical challenges throughout the workshop. Each session will start with Athletics, before moving to Basketball and Soccer. We will then change our pace to incorporate dance movements, and conclude with a stretching cool down routine inspired by Cosmic Yoga. Join us for a program that helps to grow strength and stamina, builds balance, coordination and confidence, increases fitness and is pure fun.
Music Movements
Step into the spotlight, and see your child's confidence soar through the exhilarating blend of singing, dancing, and acting! With each note sung, every move danced, and every line delivered, they'll explore their creativity and self-expression, unlocking the full spectrum of their potential. Our dynamic workshops aren't just about individual growth; they're about creating a vibrant community where collaboration thrives and harmony resonates. Inspired by the dazzling world of musical theater, our program guides young performers on a mesmerizing journey that enriches not only their skills but also their overall well-being. Passport Adventures
Join the Passport Adventurers, by diving into the world's vibrant diversity without leaving school! You will be taken on a whirlwind tour of food, culture, language, and arts, exploring different countries across all continents. With maps in hand and curiosity as our guide, we'll navigate the globe from the bustling streets of big cities to the art-filled alleys of Europe, tasting, dancing, and learning our way through the world's wonders. The Passport Adventurers is your child’s ticket to becoming a global citizen, making lifelong memories and friendships along the journey.
