Relive the Fun Field Day at Our International School

Fun Field Day!

A firm favourite amongst the children at our international in Thailand, this event brings the whole school together for a day of healthy competition, teamwork, and fun! Today the children were split into mixed year group teams – giving the older children an opportunity to model sportsmanship and facilitate collaboration – to take part in a host of different activities: wall-climbing, obstacle courses, shoot the targets, digging for gold, and dance-offs, as well those more strategic games, which flex the brain as much as the body!

Fun Field Day is also the first event at our international school in which the Year 6 children take on their roles and responsibilities as part of the student council leadership programme. This day gives them an opportunity to develop their leadership and communication skills as they lead the K2 and Y1 activities, with assistance from our teachers.

Co-Constructing a Climate-Resilient Future: Putting Our Trust in the Children
On UN Earth Day this week, our Head of The City School, Dr. Lea, and our Y1-2 Project Coordinator, Ms. Sam, presented a webinar to the international educational and development community entitled ‘Co-Constructing a Climate-Resilient Future: Putting Our Trust in the Children’, with a participating audience of professionals from Bangladesh to Ethiopia, Nepal to the US. Hosted by the Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood, and in collaboration with Save the Children, our educators showcased how ELC’s The City School is committed to empowering children to prepare for climate resilience and work for sustainable development, and how our Reggio Emilia approach to education cultivates those skills and character for our children to be world-changers.
