Songkran in Bloom

ELC celebrated Songkran this week amidst bursts of colour and fragrance from the flowers and scented waters of Thailand for our theme ‘Songkran In Bloom’. The children learnt about the importance of Thai New Year as an embrace of new beginnings and goodwill and had the opportunity to participate in offering alms to monks. We enjoyed traditional Thai activities such as threading flower garlands and making flags for sand chedis, and the children also participated in the traditional custom of paying respects to their teachers and other school staff.

We wish all our ELC families and community a joyous and restful Songkran.

Where Storytelling begins…
We have an exciting new space at the City School in our Thai house, dedicated to storytelling and writing. Over the past few weeks, Ms. Rachael, our Literacy Coordinator, has invited the children into this space to explore its delights, to take a journey through literature, and to dream up ideas.
