Third teacher
15 March 2023
As a ‘third teacher’, our environment at ELC is ever-changing and adapting to the needs and interests of the children. The atelier spaces are designed to be flexible, open-ended, and evolving, so that our children can actively explore and experiment with different materials and mediums relevant to their current discoveries in Project. A recent Y1 Project around Cities of Dancing Light, inspired a reset of one of our ateliers; it is now a space that interacts with the natural morning light, where children can go to test their hypotheses around shadow and reflection, and develop new understandings.
